Service Essentials Thank You Card

Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the United States of America! Our great country is celebrating 250 years! We would not be here if not for our brave men and women in our armed forces. Today’s card honors all of our service members stationed here and abroad. This card was designed by Suzy whose daughter Heidi is currently serving in the US Army. I also have two nephews serving, Nicholas in Germany and Andrew here in the States. This card also recognizes our police and fire fighters here at home. A HUGE thank you to all! Let freedom ring!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. With the Service Essentials bundle, I stamped the large star on the card front with Misty Moonlight ink for a tone-on-tone look. I focused more on the edges, rather than the middle since that will be covered with my focal image.

With Stylish Shapes dies, I cut the largest circle from Balmy Blue cardstock on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. From Basic White cardstock, I cut the shield from Service Essential dies. From Silver Foil Sheets, I cut the small star and the line of five stars. From Gold Foil Sheets, I cut the wings. I cut the wings apart.

I stamped the chevron in Real Red ink on Basic White cardstock. I fussy cut out one stripe.

I adhered the red chevron to the top of the shield with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I added the silver star. I stamped Thank You for Your Service in Misty Moonlight ink between them.

I added my gold wings to my blue circle. I used a straight edge to keep the separated pieces in line. I glued the shield to the circle.

With Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added my focal image to my card front. I added four of the tiny silver stars to either side of the image.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.

I hope you liked this card.
