Scenic Coast Thinking of You Card

Today I have another card from Terry’s latest class. This card uses the Scenic Coast DSP, which has been very popular. As I write this post, it is available at Stampin’ Up!. This card is simple, but I do have a trick or two to make it a little easier. So, let’s get to it!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Highland Heather cardstock to 4¼” x 11” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5½”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut two 5½” x ½” strips of Gorgeous Grape cardstock. Also, with Gorgeous Grape cardstock, I cut a circle from Spotlight on Nature dies on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I think it is easier to cut the larger circle first. Then I used the sailboat image from Sunset Coast dies to cut from the center of the circle. Get Sunset Coast bundle here. I used some washi tape to hold the sailboat die in place while I ran it through my machine.

From the Scenic Coast DSP, I cut a 5½” x 2⅝” piece as my focal image. You can get two cards from the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP.

I adhered my DSP to my purple strips using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I used my Crafting Grid Paper to help line up my strips. If you prefer, you could use one 5½” x 2⅞” piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock instead of the strips. I adhered this panel to my card base.

I used a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals to pop up my focal image. I cut narrow strips of Dimensionals to add around the edges of the circle. I placed the focal image so that the edges of the circle met the edges of my purple strips and the water under the sailboat was horizontal. (It may be leaning a tad, but I tried.)

I stamped Thinking of You Today from All Aflutter stamp set (bundle)in Gorgeous Grape ink on a scrap strip of Basic White cardstock. I trimmed it down to 3½” x ½”. I adhered it to my card front with Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.

I hope you liked this card!
