When I was a child, my parents bought a little pop-up camper. There were six of us kids at the time and most of us were relatively small, so we all fit inside. My dad pulled this camper all over the United States over the years and I was privileged to see so many of the wonders our nation has in abundance. With so many kids in the family, staying in a hotel and eating out every meal was an impossible extravagance, so having the camper provided an opportunity most of my peers didn’t experience. My own husband had been to a handful of states when we married 35 years ago. We have slowly been increasing that number since. This card reminds me of all the places I saw with my family. I hope you have happy memories of traveling with your dad and family.

Now on to the card. For the card base, I cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Nature Walk DSP to 4″ x 5¼” to act as my background.
With the Capturing Smiles stamps from the bundle, I stamped with Versamark ink the camera pieces (see below) on Basic Black cardstock. I added silver embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder pack and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I stamped the shutter piece and the picture images with black ink on Basic White cardstock. I colored the picture images with Stampin’ Blends. Some suggested colors: Highland Heather, Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, Granny Apple Green, and Old Olive.

I die cut my stamped pieces, the film roll piece, and the viewer (from Silver Foil Sheets) on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

To assemble the camera, I adhered the shutter to the focusing ring using a non-tacky glue. The gluing edge is very narrow. You could also use Tear & Tape. I adhered this piece to the silver lens adjuster. I glued on the hexagon shaped piece to the front of the camera. Lastly, I added the lens pieces.

For the film roll, I adhere to the pictures to the back with non-tacky glue. Again, Tear & Tape would work well here. A fun alternative would be to add actual photos of Dad.

I adhered my DSP to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I added my film reel flat on the card. I added the camera with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped TODAY IS YOUR DAY and Happy Father’s Day from Relaxing Waterside stamp set in Azure Afternoon ink on Basic White cardstock and trimmed them down. I pressed the edges in Blueberry Bushel ink to give it a more defined edge.

I added my sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For a bit of shine I added three of the Cloud Cover pearls from the 2025-2027 In-Color Flat Pearls.
To finish the card I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.
I hope you liked this card!
