It’s Saturday, so today I have a simple card. As some of you know, I struggle to make simple cards. I always want to jazz them up for that WOW factor. Today I think I successfully made it as simple as I know how. I used one ink color for the balloons, but it looks like I used more than one. I used the technique of stamping off. Stampin’ Up!’s inks are perfect for this technique. I chose to make this one color, but you could easily incorporate other colors.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Highland Heather cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to 3⅞” x 5⅛” to act as a mat. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3¾” x 5” for my focal image.
With the Balloon Festoon stamp set, I stamped the balloon in Highland Heather ink and then stamped off and stamped a balloon. There is only one balloon image in the stamp set, but there are several balloon dies in the coordinating die set. Click here for the bundle. My first attempt at this card, I stamped the balloons full strength on my cardstock and then went back and stamped the stamped off balloons. My next attempt, I stamped full strength and stamped off version as I went. See the picture below for the comparison. I was able to fill the space better the second attempt.

I stamped the confetti in Highland Heather ink.

I stamped the strings with Smoky Slate ink that I stamped off first.

I stamped Happy Birthday with Momento Tuxedo Black ink.

I adhered my focal image to my purple mat with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I glued this to my card base.

For a bit of sparkle, I added three Rhinestones to the card.
To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.
I hope you liked this simple card. See below for other monochromatic colored versions.
