It’s the last day of September and it has been feeling like fall. The leaves are beginning to change and fall from the trees. The animals are preparing for winter, as are we. The squirrels in my yard have been scrambling to hide all the walnuts from the neighbor’s trees. Our garden has been cleared and prepped for next year. The temperatures have finally become more bearable, and I know I have pulled out some long-sleeved shirts to stay nice and comfy. It’s a first taste of what is to come.
Today I have a sweet card using the birds from Cutest Crew stamp set (bundle). Once again, I am using Golden Glow as my focal color. I think it is my favorite new In Color. Maybe it is just the season, and it compliments it so well. So, let’s get started.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Golden Glow cardstock to 4” x 5¼” to act as my background. I cut a piece of Silly Old Bear DSP to 1½” x 5¼”. I cut a strip of Gold Foil Sheets to ½” x 5¼”.
From Basic White cardstock, I die cut the largest rounded rectangle from Nested Essentials dies on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. With a ¾” strip of Bloom Boutique DSP, I die cut the end of the same rectangle.
I stamped the three birds from Cutest Crew stamp set in Black ink. I stamped Just a little Hello in Golden Glow ink. I added my piece of DSP with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I colored in my birds with Stampin’ Blends. Some suggested colors: Golden Glow, Pumpkin Pie, and Peaceful Pine.
I adhered my Gold strip to my DSP strip. I glued this on my background piece. I laid the focal image where I wanted it to go and stamped the bird foot prints in Golden Glow ink under the focal image. I adhered this panel to my card base.
I added my birds to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For a bit of shine, I added three Gold Adhesive Backed Gems.
To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.
