It’s Saturday so I have a simple card. I was going through some of my cards and came across this layout and decided to give it a go with the lovely Sunflower Fields DSP. This paper pack has so many pretty designs that most of them would work.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Golden Glow cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut another piece of Golden Glow to 4¼” x 5½” and ran it through my Softly Woven Embossing Folder on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I trimmed it down to 4⅛” x 5⅜” and adhered it to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). If you prefer, you could run the front of the card base through your embossing folder. I personally do not care for a flimsy card front.

I cut a piece of Secret Sea cardstock to 3¼” x 4⅜” to act as a mat. I cut a piece of Sunflower Fields DSP to 3″ x 4″. I flipped my DSP piece over and marked 1½” from the upper right-hand corner and bottom left-hand corner with a pencil. I lined up my pencil marks in the trough of my Trimmer and cut on the diagonal. I glued my pieces to my mat.

I added my panel to my card front.

For my sentiment, I stamped Happy Birthday from Banner Sayings bundle in Secret Sea ink on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the coordinating punch to punch out the banner. I cut a ¼” x 2½” strip of Cajun Craze cardstock. I glued the strip behind my sentiment. You could easily change the sentiment if you want.

I added my sentiment to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of sparkle, I added three Secret Sea Radiant Gems to my card.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and glued it inside my card.
