It is September and while it is not officially autumn, many people believe that fall begins the first of September. Here in southwest Ohio, the temperatures have not gotten the message. This week has been hotter than it has been since the beginning of August, with temperatures in the 90s. But we will continue to be hopeful for cooler weather and today’s card anticipates that. Scarecrows are a symbol of fall, along with pumpkins and all things spooky, but that is for another day. Yesterday, Stampin’ Up! launched their newest catalog and Online Exclusives. If you haven’t picked up your catalog yet, stop by Terry’s shop and check it out. So many fun things to add to your wish list. Along with the new products in the catalog and online, the new Product of the Month is available. This month Stampin’ Up! is offering Luxe Foliage 12″ x 12″ Specialty DSP.

Terry featured today’s card at her August class, so many of you have already had the chance to make it. I will add a tip or two to make it as simple as possible to make. Let’s get to it!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Peaceful Pines cardstock to 4¼” x 11” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5½”, and burnished with my Bone Folder to make a top folding card. With 2026-2028 In Color Gingham Gallery DSP I cut two pieces: one with the Golden Glow at 5¼” x 2½” and Peaceful Pine at 5¼” x 1½”.

When cutting your pieces, keep in mind that the lines look better when they match up. The pieces I had did not really go together, so I trimmed them so they did match. Because of this, my borders were a little wider than Terry’s. If it doesn’t bother you, then feel free to cut them however you like. 🙂 If you are really observant, you can tell I had already trimmed them and turned one upside down. I adhered these pieces to my card using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

With Everyday Arches dies, I die cut the arch with the 2 ⅝” base from Peaceful Pine cardstock on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I cut the next smaller arch from Very Vanilla cardstock. I adhered these together.

With Fun For Fall bundle, I stamped the scarecrow, hay bale, pennant, and crow with Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. Here are some suggested colors: Golden Glow, Hydrangea Hue, Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Peaceful Pine, and Medium Deep (brown).

I stamped Hoping your day in wonderfall from the stamp set on a 1″ strip of Very Vanilla cardstock with Black ink. I flagged the right end of the strip. I glued this to my card. I added the arches.

With Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added the colored images. I added a 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearl for a little shine.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and glued it inside my card.
