Scenic Coast Birthday Card

It’s Saturday and today I have a super simple card that uses minimal supplies. The only stamping would be the greeting inside the card. Once again, the DSP does all the work! And this DSP is truly gorgeous. I remember going through the catalog and thinking the paper was pretty, but it didn’t really stand out to me. Probably because the iridescent foil really can’t be seen on the printed page. Trust me, it is SO pretty in person! So, let’s get to the card.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I chose to use pink as my card base color because that is my favorite color. You could easily use Highland Heather or Gorgeous Grape instead if you’re into purple. I cut a piece of Darling Duckling cardstock to 4” x 5¼” to act as my mat for my focal panel. This is the first time I’ve actually used Darling Duckling. I cut a piece of Scenic Coast DSP to 3⅞” x 5⅛”. When I cut my piece, I decided not to cut 2⅛”” off the right side so the sun’s reflection was off center. I also cut ⅞” off the top.

I adhered this panel to my yellow mat using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal) and then to my card base.

With the Words and Wishes dies, I cut the Happy Birthday detail words from Melon Mambo cardstock on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I positioned my dies on my card before glueing them down. I glued down Birthday first and then Happy to make sure I allowed myself enough room for both words. The H and B are separate from the rest of the words and are overlarge. The bottom of the letters extends as low as the descenders on the Ys and Ps. I thought about using the shadow dies, but they would have covered up too much of my pretty paper.

For a little additional sparkle, I added three of the 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls, the yellow ones.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4″ x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.

I hope you liked this card
