It’s Saturday and I have a simple card for you. You could use this for a Halloween or Thanksgiving thank you or a seasonal one. There are also other sentiments in the set and you could swap out. You may be thinking, what is with the teal pumpkin? I read recently that if you put a teal pumpkin out for Halloween, the treats you hand out will be food safe for kids with allergies. Think stickers, small figures, etc. that won’t cause an allergic reaction. The year I put out toothbrushes for my little trick or treatersk, they were not a big hit. I ended the night with as many as I started with. Of course, in the 27 years that I’ve lived in my house, I think we’ve had two trick or treaters actually come to the door. We live a significant distance from the road, no sidewalks. I have a friend that lives in a large subdivision and she hands out hundreds of treats. What is your experience on Halloween?
Now on to the card. To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. From Painted Patch DSP, I cut a piece of DSP to 4” x 5¼” for my background. I adhered my background to my card base with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

Next, I die cut the gate from the Painted Pumpkins bundle (contains stamps, dies, and stencils) from Basic White cardstock on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I added this to my card.

I stamped my pumpkins with Early Espresso ink on Basic White cardstock. There are three pumpkins on the stamp. I used the stencils and Small Blending Brushes to color them in. I used Post-It notes to cover the pumpkins I wasn’t coloring. I added more ink to the tops and bottoms of the pumpkins to give them a more rounded look. Make sure you dab off the ink a little before applying to your pumpkins to avoid blobs that are impossible to blend out. I colored the first one with Timid Tiger ink.

I used Pool Party ink and Golden Glow ink on the other two pumpkins. I die cut them out with the coordinating dies. I only used the open stencil. In the third picture, I used the second stencil and didn’t really care for the stripes.

I die cut all the leaves and tendrils from Pool Party cardstock. You could add Pool Party ink with a Sponge Dauber if you like. I did not on this card, but it would be pretty. I glued the leafed tendrils to the gate and then added two pumpkins. I glued the remaining leaves and tendril to the back of the third pumpkin. I added this to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped Thank You in Early Espresso ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I trimmed it down and added it to my card.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.
I hope you liked this card!
