This SUPER SIMPLE (hardly and stamping–still very pretty!) card is the perfect way to showcase the Bird Ballad DSP.
For this card, you need a 4.25” x 11” piece of So Saffron Cardstock as the base of the card.
To start, cut a 4” x 5.25” piece of Pool Party Cardstock and embossed it with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.
Next, I pasted a 1.5” x 5.25 of the Bird Ballad DSP about a quarter of an inch off the edge of the embossed pool party. I used the page with a white background because I thought it provided a pretty contrast.
Next, I used the scalloped Layering Circles Dies with a 3” opening to cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow Cardstock. Then, I picked a bird from the DSP and cut him out using my 2.5” circle punch, but you could also use a layering circles die.
The pretty paper has several birds to choose from, so you could make this card several times using one sheet of the DSP. The detail on the paper makes beautiful cut outs, no matter which bird you pick! Just be sure that the bird is in the center of the circle before you cut him out so he doesn’t get cut off.
I centered the bird DSP on top of Mossy Meadow and stamped the “A very big congratulations and best wishes to you” sentiment from the Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp Set on a piece of white cardstock.
Finally, paste your greeting about ¾ of an inch from the bottom of the card and center the scallop at the top half of the card. I think embellishing the greeting with a tiny bow looks nice as well. I used a piece of Pool Party twine which you can no longer order, but you could easily select any matching color of ribbon or twine for your own card.
Tip: This card makes a great retirement OR anniversary card. The stamps from the Well Said Cling Stamp Set look great on the inside of this card.
