Make your own Gift Card Holder

Gift 3

Giving a gift card for Christmas is great for many reasons: they’re easy to pick up and you know the recipient is getting exactly what they wanted with that gift card! BUT some of the holiday fun of unwrapping that pretty Christmas paper is lost with giving a gift card. These gorgeous gift card holders are your solution! Keep a couple on hand for a pretty way to present a quick gift.

This gift card holder looks wrapped, but easily slide off the band to see a festive greeting and to find the gift.

You can mix and match your colors, but the base of your card needs to be a 5″ x 7.75″ piece of cardstock.

Score this piece of paper at 1.75″ and 5.25″. Cut a piece of 5 7/8″ x 2.25″ piece of DSP to the outside of the largest outside flap. I used the Wrapped in Plaid DSP for a festive look!

Next, use a circle punch to cut a small notch in the center of the flap. This will help your loved ones get their gift card out of the envelope!

Adhere the larger flap on the sides only with Snail Adhesive to create an envelope.

Next, cut a 5 7/8″ x 1.5″ of Whisper White Cardstock and adhere it to the top of the envelope (see photo above). You can stamp the top of the envelope with a festive greeting! The “Merry Christmas” greeting from the Snowman Season stamp set looks great! Stamp a “To” and “From” on the top of the envelope so you can fill in these gift card holders quickly when you have a gift card to give.

Next, cut a 5 7/8″ x 1.5″ piece of cardstock that matches the DSP used on the inside flap of your envelope. This goes on the outside of your envelope.

Time to make the band! Cut a 1″x 7.5″ strip of cardstock for the band that goes around the envelope. Adhere the band together with your Snail Adhesive

Finally, stamp a greeting like my retired “a gift for you” greeting on a piece of cardstock and cut it out with the Story Label Punch. I cut a second label with my Story Label Punch sing gold paper to put behind my greeting.

TIP: Cut your gold label in half lengthwise and put it behind your greeting to add some dimension to your label!

Adhere your label using Stampin’ Dimensionals

I used the Wrapped in Plaid DSP, Night of Navy 8.5” x 11” Cardstock, Shaded Spruce 8.5” x 11” Cardstock, and Cherry Cobbler 8.5” x 11” Cardstock for the two gift card holders pictured above!

Wrapped in Plaid Gift Card Holder Supply List! BUT you could use any combination of festive sheets of DSP for your own gift card holders!
