It’s Saturday and today I have a simple card. I call it unconventional because it can very easily be a Valentine card without using any Valentine products! And there is no stamping involved except what you choose to put inside. You could just write your inside message freehand. Terry featured this card at her most recent class.
It is February so don’t forget to redeem your Bonus Days coupons you earned in January. You can redeem them through February 28, 2026.
Now onto the card! To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a strip of Real Red cardstock to 5½” x ½”. I cut a strip of Season of Green and Gold Specialty paper to 2″ x 5½”. This paper is from last year and is retired but a good substitute could be Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Paper. It has a pretty gold foiled pattern that would work on this card.
With the Textured Notes dies (Last Chance product!) I die cut the 2¾” x 4¼” rectangle from Real Red cardstock on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
From the Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP (which is apparently no longer available. UGH!), I fussy cut a bouquet of flowers. Stop by Terry’s shop; she may be able to secure some for you.
Now I have all my pieces.

I adhered the foiled panel to my red strip using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I added this to my card base.

I adhered my bouquet to the red rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I glued this to my card front.
To finish, I added a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock inside my card to write my message.
I made up a jazzed-up version of this card by embossing the card base and blending on a little ink, adding ribbon, and adding gold gems from my favorite hobby shop.

I hope you like this card and are able to make your own version of it!
