It’s Saturday, so I have a simple card! Here in southwest Ohio, it is a good weekend to make cards since we are predicted to receive over a foot of snow. Sounds like a good time to hunker down and craft! Let’s stock up for the year with birthday cards and whatnot before the weather changes and we want to spend every spare minute outside soaking up the sun.
Don’t forget that Stampin’ Up! has two promotions going on right now. You have a little over a week to earn money during their Bonus Days promo and, while you’re at it, get the Product of the Month. All those bonus dollars will contribute to next month’s product of the month. What will it be? We’ve had DSP in December and a beautiful stamp set in January. Any predictions? A die set? Embossing folder? Punch? Can’t wait to find out! Now, let’s get on to the card.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut an additional piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock to 3⅛” x 4⅛” to act as a mat for our focal image. I cut a piece of Basic Beige cardstock to 4” x 5¼”. I cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock to 4″ x 1″. I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock to 5¼” x 2″. I ran the Misty Moonlight piece through my Forever Plaid Embossing Folder on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Finally, I cut a piece of Thoughtful Journey DSP to 3″ x 4″. I used the pattern below. I cut off the 2″ at the bottom and then into two 3″ x 4″ pieces. I was able to get two cards from the sheet. I plan to use the extra piece on another card.

I stamped the pier from Peaceful Pier stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on my DSP. I didn’t color mine in but you could if you’d like.

I adhered my blue strip to the left side of the beige piece with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

I stamped Happy Birthday from Simply Said stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink in the lower right on my Calypso Coral strip. I adhered my coral piece about ¼” from the bottom of the panel. I wrapped a double strand of Linen Thread around the panel.

I adhered my panel to my card base. I adhered my DSP to my Mossy Meadow mat. I adhered this to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double bow with my Linen Thread and used a Mini Glue Dot to add it to the left side of my card. For a bit of sparkle, I added three Pretty Peacock Low Profile Sparkle Dots.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.
I hope you like this simple card!
