It’s Saturday and I have another simple card. Once again, I am using the gorgeous Traditions of Christmas DSP, but I am pairing it with a couple non-traditional Christmas colors plus the very traditional red. Don’t forget to check out the Last Chance product list here. Hopefully the ones I used for this project are still available.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock to 4¼” x 11” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5½”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock to 3¼” x 4½”. I cut a piece Traditions of Christmas DSP (Last Chance Product) to 3″ x 4″.

To get the diagonal split, I marked 1¼” down from the top right corner and up from the lower left corner. I cut from mark to mark on my paper trimmer.

I adhered this to my red mat piece with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal) with even borders and the split between the pieces. I recommend placing it on your mat first and gauging borders. You may want to trim the red a little.
Using Spotlight on Nature dies, I die cut a circle from Pretty in Pink cardstock. On this I stamped Merry Christmas from a retired set. A current set, Ornamental Christmas stamp set, would be a good substitute with its pretty font. You could also use something from your stash.
I adhered my focal layer to my card base. I added my sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. With a Mini Glue Dot I added a bow from Real Red ½” Shiny Ribbon. (Last Chance product).
I stamped a greeting on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.
I hope you liked this simple card!
