Artistic Leaves Card

Today I have a card that you might recognize if you attended Terry’s most recent class. I modified it a smidge with current product. I love the contrast between the leaves and the soft background. I don’t usually think of using teals for fall leaves, but somehow it works. This card also involves a technique for adding a little color. With Thanksgiving next week, we can contemplate all the people we are grateful for. My list is so long! This is the perfect card to let that someone special know what they mean to you. Now on to the card!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock to 4¼” x 11” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5½”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Gathering Together DSP to 4″ x 5¼”. I adhered this to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue).

I stamped the detailed chestnut leaf from Artistic Leaves stamp set with Lost Lagoon ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock.

I stamped another one using Pretty Peacock ink, again on Lost Lagoon cardstock. With a Sponge Dauber, I daubed on Garden Green ink. If you blend the ink, you will smudge the lines of the leaves. I rather like the distinct lines showing.

I fussy cut the leaves out with scissors since this set does not have coordinating dies.

I stamped the small leaf from the stamp set with Basic Beige ink on Basic Beige cardstock three times. I fussy cut these out, too.

I stamped Grateful for You from Amber Autumn stamp set with Pretty Peacock ink on a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock. I used the long narrow die from Textured Notes dies to cut out my sentiment on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I cut the right side off at an angle with my scissors.

To assemble the card, I placed my leaf pieces on my card before adhering. When I was satisfied with the placement, I adhered the three smaller leaves and the lighter chestnut leaf flat on the card. I added the darker leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little dimension.

I adhered my sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals, also.

I used half a Mini Glue Dot to add a Linen Thread bow to my sentiment.

To finish the card, I stamped a greeting on a 4″ x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.

I hope you liked this card!
