More Than Autumn Accordion Gatefold Card

Can you believe it is almost Halloween? That means November is right around the corner and we can look ahead to Thanksgiving. I know all things pumpkin spice have been available for a couple months now, but I decided to go ahead with this card. Thanksgiving? Pumpkin Pie? They go together! It has finally cooled down here in southwest Ohio, and hot beverages actually sound good! Today I have a unique fun fold card. This card folds out to the left and right, and offers several small rectangles to add your images. I decided to use the More Than Autumn stamp set since it is so fun and it is on the Last Chance List. Get it while you can! You can save 10% by getting the bundle. So, let’s get on to the card.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock to 5½” x 9½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored at ½” and 2⅝” on both ends of the 9½” side. On the ½” score line, I cut down 1⅜”. I saved the left-over 3″ x 11″ piece for later.

I cut this piece out from all four corners.

The long score lines get folded in and the cut down score lines are folded out. I burnished my folds with my Bone Folder.

I trimmed the 3″ x 11″ piece to 3″ x 10⅝”. I scored it at 2⅛” x 4¼” from both ends. I folded the 4¼” score lines in and the 2⅛” score lines out.

I cut a piece of Gathering Together DSP to 5¼” x 3⅞”. I cut this in half longways to two pieces at 5¼ x 1-13/16″.

I cut a piece of Autumn Toile DSP to 5¼” x 3⅞”. I cut this in half longways, also, to the same dimensions.

I adhered the plaid pieces to the front of my card with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

I adhered the Toile pieces on the inside flaps.

I folded the accordion strip and applied glue to the center panel. I centered this in the inside of the card. I tried to line up this panel with the tabs.

I folded in the left side of the card over the first fold of the accordion panel. I folded out the first rectangle of the accordion panel.

I added glue to the tab.

I folded the wing panel onto the glue. I folded in the right side and applied glue to the tab. I folded the right wing panel onto the glue.

Now I have the panel attached to the card.

I cut five 2¾” x 1⅞” pieces from Cajun Craze cardstock. I cut five 2⅝” x 1¾” pieces from Very Vanilla cardstock. On the vanilla pieces, I stamped the words and images. For the piece with words, I stamped You Had Me at from More Than Autumn stamp set with Cajun Craze ink. I stamped the scripty words Pumpkin and Spice in Pumpkin Pie ink. I stamped the little pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie ink. I stamped the slice of pie, beverage, and doughnut in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on separate pieces. I colored the images with Stampin’ Blends: Petal Pink, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Pecan Pie. I mounted each of these panels on the Cajun Craze mats. I did leave one of the vanilla panels blank for my personal message.

I added the greeting to the front panel.

I added the other panels inside the card. When closing the card, fold in the right side first and then the left side.

When the card is folded, it can be a little bulky in the middle. I counted 22 layers of cardstock. 😦 If you plan to send it in the mail, to reduce bulk, cut the vanilla pieces to 2¾” x 1⅞”. With a Sponge Dauber, add Cajun Craze ink around the edges to give them a matted look.

I hope you liked this card!
