Today’s card is for all those little trick or treaters who venture out on Halloween night to collect a bag of goodies. I remember looking forward to going out as a child, since we didn’t have much candy at home. Part of the fun was designing a costume. For a few years, I was a Pilgrim. My favorite book at the time was If You Sailed on the Mayflower by Ann McGovern. I don’t know how many times I read that book and it had nothing to do with Halloween. I borrowed a skirt from my mom and on me it went down to my ankles, so I was good to go. I wore a white blouse with it. Looking back, I don’t think I looked anything like a Pilgrim, and my neighbors’ confused faces should have been a clue. I got candy anyway, so it was all good. Marilyn here with another card.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Petunia Pop cardstock to 4” x 5¼”. I ran this piece through the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, centering my cardstock in the embossing folder. With the Spooky Sweet DSP, I cut a piece 1″ x 4″ and another to 2½” x 4″.

I cut a piece of Petunia Pop cardstock to 1½” x 2⅞” and a piece of Basic White cardstock to 1-5/16″ x 2-11/16″.
On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the costumed critters from the Spooky Halloween bundle in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Bubble Bath, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Petunia Pop. I die cut the images out with the dies in the Spooky Halloween bundle.
I adhered the embossed panel to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

I then positioned then adhered the two DSP pieces on my card base.

I stamped Happy Halloween from the stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on the white piece and glued this to the Petunia Pop piece. I adhered this and my characters to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For a bit of sparkle, I added two black Shimmer Star Foam Stickers.
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment on a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.
I hope you liked this card and have fond memories of past Halloweens. I actually met my husband at a Halloween party, so that is another fond memory for me!
