Amber Autumn Card

It’s Saturday, so I’m back with a simple card. Marilyn here, and I think my friends Kathy and Dot would have to agree that this card is really simple! While we still have a couple weeks of summer left, the temperatures have begun cooling a smidge; instead of highs in the 90s we are sticking to the 80s. It is actually pleasant in the morning leaving for work. So, I thought we could use an autumn card. This stamp set is perfect as an introduction to fall. So, let’s get to it and I’ll try to keep the number of steps to a minimum.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock to 5½” x 8½” on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4¼”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a 3″ x 4″ piece of Gathering Together Specialty DSP. This paper has gorgeous fall colors, and it has a delicate shimmer of gold threaded throughout. I cut a piece of Earthen Tone Metallic Specialty Paper to ½” x 4″.

With a piece of Basic White cardstock, I die cut 2¼” x 3¾” rectangle from Textured Notes dies on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I stamped Autumn Wishes from the Amber Autumn bundle in the lower left corner in Early Espresso ink.

I stamped the leaf and acorn image from the stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating dies from the bundle. I colored in the image using Stampin’ Blends. You could also use colored pencils if you prefer.

I adhered the DSP piece to the foil strip using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I recommend using the tape runner with the foil to avoid a sticky mess. I left about ⅛” of the metallic showing.

I adhered this panel to the left side of the card, leaving a ⅛” border on three sides. I adhered the rectangle to the front of the card. Then, I added the leaf image with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a little bow with Linen Thread and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot to the acorn and leaves. I added a couple of Neutral Matte Dots to the white panel as a finishing touch.

To finish the card, I glued a 4” x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock inside my card.

I hope you liked this card!
