Celebratory Sips Card

It’s Saturday so I have another simple card! This card uses the Celebratory Sips DSP, which is part of the current Stampin’ Up! In Color promotion. Since it uses Cloud Cover, it’s 15% off through the end of August. I also want to mention that the stamp set that I used is on the Last Chance list. It’s available while supplies last. Now on to the card.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock to 4¼” x 11″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5½”, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4″ x 5¼”. From the pack of Celebratory Sips DSP, I cut several ¾” strips the length of the sheet.

To make the focal panel, I started with my Basic White piece and made two pencil marks. The first I made 1⅛” from the bottom, centered. The second I made 3⅛” inches from the bottom on the right side. These will help me place my first strip of DSP.

I lined up the right-angle point with the center pencil mark and the edge of the strip with the mark on the side. The first picture shows where the pencil marks are and the second picture shows the strip glued down with the pencil marks covered. I adhered my strip with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

I added the next strip perpendicular to the first one. I left a little space between them so that the white cardstock could peek through.

I continued to add strips, alternating directions. I used a tiny scrap between the purple and orange strips. When all the strips were added, I trimmed the excess DSP from the edges.

I stamped Happy Birthday from Birthday Celebrations stamp set (Last Chance!) in the white space under my herringbone pattern with Blackberry Bliss ink. You could choose another color found in the papers if you’d prefer.

I fussy cut a beverage from the DSP and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the panel to my card base. To fill in the lower left white space, I fussy cut some tiny flowers from the DSP and glued them on the card.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment on a 4″ x 5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.

I hope you liked this simple card with minimal supplies.
