Cheers and Sips Card

It’s Simple Saturday and I have a card that celebrates the beginning of summer! Of course, summer doesn’t officially start for a few weeks, but we can start the celebration early! This card reminds me of family get togethers and barbecuing and all the wonderful memories that summer can make. But enough of the nostalgia, let’s get to the card.

For the card base, I cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to 11″ x 4-1/4″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5-1/2″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut two 1/2″ x 5-1/4″ strips of Daffodil Delight cardstock. You could cut one piece at 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ if you prefer. I cut a piece of Celebratory Sips DSP to 2″ x 5-1/4″.

I die cut the circle from Basic White cardstock with Spotlight on Nature dies on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

On the die cut circle, I stamped the strawberry from Cheers and Sips bundle with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, which is Stampin’ Blend safe. I stamped another strawberry on a piece of Post-It note (you could use Masking Paper if you are making several) and cut the right side out with my Paper Snips. I knew I wouldn’t need the entire image cut out, so I cut what I needed. I placed the mask on my strawberry and stamped another. This makes the second strawberry look like it’s peeking from behind the first one.

I colored my strawberries with Real Red and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

Next, I took another piece of the Celebratory Sips DSP. This pattern of DSP was designed to coordinate with the beverage glasses in the stamp set. I chose one of the shorter blobs from the pattern and cut it out with my Paper Snips, making sure to leave some white border.

I stamped the smaller stemless wineglass image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on the blob and die cut it with the coordinating die. This is an easy way to color in your beverage of choice!

I stamped the umbrella from the stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White cardstock and colored it in with Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I cut it out with the coordinating die.

Finally, I stamped Cheers from the stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on a 3/4″ strip of white cardstock. I stamped It’s Your Day! underneath it. I trimmed the ends at an angle.

I adhered my Daffodil Delight strips to my DSP piece with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal), leaving about 1/8″ border on either side. If you chose to cut just one piece as a matte, the DSP piece with leave 1/8″ borders on the sides. I adhered this to my card base with equal borders left, top, and bottom.

I adhered the umbrella to the top left side of the beverage glass and adhered this to my circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I glued the circle onto my card base, leaving space for the sentiment below. I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For a bit of bling, I added a Rhinestone above the strawberries.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.

I hope you liked this card!
