It’s Saturday and before you know it, April will be upon us. Where does the time go? I found some Unbounded Beauty DSP that I hadn’t used and thought I’d design a card to use some of the overlooked pieces. This DSP has all the 2024 In Colors and will not carry over into the new catalog, so grab it while you can. Marilyn here, with a super simple card. It involves no dies, so you know I struggled to create it. I love complicated cards! But it does involve a fun technique!
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3-1/4″ x 4-5/8″. I cut a piece of Unbounded Beauty DSP to 3″ x 4″. It has a Pretty in Pink and Peach Pie wash and the reverse side has a bold Petunia Pop print. We are using the wash side.

With my piece of DSP, I stamped the flower image from With You in Mind stamp set in Pretty in Pink ink over it. I often forget that I can stamp on DSP and give it a little extra texture. What a fun technique! Make sure you stamp some of the images going off the edge.

I cut my DSP into four 1″ strips. I kept mine in order but you could mix them up if you prefer.

I placed my strips on my 3-1/4″ x 4-5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock before gluing with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). There should be a 1/8″ border and between strips. I adhered this panel to my card base, centering it.
I stamped the Happy Birthday from the same stamp set in Pretty in Pink ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I also stamped the cupcake in Pretty in Pink ink, cleaned my stamp, and stamped the cupcake again in Peach Pie ink.

I fussy cut the words and cupcakes with my Paper Snips. When cutting the cupcake, I left the pink one whole and just cut out the peach wrapper. This is one way to get two colors on one stamped image. You could also color the parts in with Stampin’ Write markers and then stamp.

I glued the peach part on top of the pink part. You could reverse how you cut them and have the peach part be the base. I thought it would just be easier to cut out the wrapper, so that is what I went with.

I glued my Happy Birthday to the card and added the cupcake with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I added three pink Party Dots for a bit of interest.
To complete the card, I stamped a sentiment on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.
I hope you liked this card and the fun but simple technique of stamping on DSP!
