Delightful Wishes Easter Card

With spring right around the corner, it’s time to think about Easter. Marilyn here today with a simple Easter card that uses the window from the circle die rather than the cutout. It’s a fun change of pace.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 11″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 5-1/2″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3-3/4″ x 5″.

With the Spotlight on Nature dies, I cut a 2-3/4″ circle from my Lemon Lolly piece on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to make the window. I lined up the die so that the sides and top were evenly spaced. You may want to secure the die before cutting with some washi tape so it doesn’t shift. This will be your focal point, so you will want the opening to end up where you really want it. Once the circle was cut (don’t forget to save the circle for another project!), I stamped the lily image from Faith Collection Bundle in Lemon Lolly ink randomly over the entire piece. I turned the stamp as I went to give it that random look. I made sure to go off the edges of the cardstock.

Next, I stamped the cluster of flowers image from Delightful Wishes stamp set. on my piece of Basic White cardstock. If you get the bundle you save 10%. I did use a stamp positioning tool (MISTI or Stamparatus) to help layer the images. I started with the outline of the flowers with Daffodil Delight ink. I positioned my stamp on the paper so that I could turn my paper 180° and stamp another image. When doing this, make sure you use the same sized paper if you plan to stamp multiple cards.

Next, I stamped the filler image with Lemon Lolly ink. It works perfectly with the Daffodil Delight ink. I used the upper left-hand corner as my consistent position so that my images would line up properly.

Next, I stamped the branch image in Crumb Cake ink.

Lastly, I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Lemon Lolly piece. If you have any of the edges of your Stampin’ Dimensionals, this is a good time to use them.

I laid my Lemon Lolly piece on the stamped image without removing my backings. When I flipped it over, I could see where the white would be. I trimmed my cardstock down so it wouldn’t show along the edges of my background piece when I mounted it.

When the white piece was an appropriate size, I removed the backings and lined up the front where I wanted it. Some of the Dimensionals extend beyond the white piece and that is okay. In the photo below it looks like the circle is on top of the Lemon Lolly cardstock. Believe it or not, it isn’t. It’s an optical illusion.

I adhered this panel to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal).

I stamped the cross from Faith Collection bundle in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut it from the Faith Collection bundle. I adhered this with Stampin’ Dimensionals inside the circle.

Next, I die cut the smallest rectangle in the Nested Essentials dies from Basic White cardstock. I stamped the ray image in Lemon Lolly ink in each corner. I stamped the palm branch image in Lemon Lime Twist ink in the center after stamping off once. I stamped Happy Easter from Storybook Friends stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I glued this to the card under my circle window.

As a finishing touch, I added three Rhinestones to the card.

I stamped my sentiment on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside my card.

I hope you liked this card!
