Bee My Valentine Card

Valentine’s Day is in the rear-view mirror, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give this cute card to someone special any time of the year. Love doesn’t center on a specific date; it is a year-round emotion. Who says you can’t surprise your special someone with this whimsical card?

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. This is a top-folding notecard. I ran the card front through a hexagon embossing folder which is no longer available. I suggest using the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder instead. It has a beautiful neutral pattern that you can use on many other projects. I cut a 3″ x 4″ piece of DSP from the Cute as a Bee DSP pack. This paper is directional so be aware of the direction before cutting or you may have to change the orientation of your card.

With a scrap of Petunia Pop cardstock, I die cut the 2-3/4″ circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I cut a strip of Petunia Pop to 4″ x 1/2″.

With Momento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped “You’ll always be the one for me on the lower half of the circle.

I fussy cut a bee from the DSP. There are a lot of cute bees to choose from on the paper. I’ve included a picture of the paper.

To assemble the card, I glued the 1/2″ strip to the back of the 4″ left side of the DSP using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal) leaving 1/8″ border showing. I glued this to the left side of the card, leaving 1/8″ borders top and bottom, and left side. I adhered the circle to the right side 1/2″ from the bottom, partially overlapping the DSP. I added my fussy cut bee with Stampin’ Dimensionals in the open space on the circle.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card.

I hope you liked this card!
