It’s Simple Saturday and I have a simple but beautiful card for you today! Less than one month and we’ll be celebrating the meaningful people in our lives. This card is perfect for friends or family.
To make the card base, I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3-3/8″ x 5-1/8″. From Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP, I cut a piece 3-3/4″ x 5″.
With my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I cut two hearts (shown below) from the Hearts of Elegance dies (save 10% with the bundle), one from Gold Foil Sheets and one from a scrap of Basic White cardstock.

I cut a strip of Basic White cardstock to 3-7/8″ x 1-1/8″ and a piece of Gold Foil to 3-7/8″ x 1-1/4″. I stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set in Real Red ink on the white strip.
Now that I have all my pieces, let’s assemble the card. I adhered the DSP to the white matte using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). Since there is a narrow border, I recommend using the liquid glue just to give yourself a little wiggle room. I adhered this to my card base. Next, I adhered my stamped white strip to the gold strip. Once again, I have a narrow border but be careful with the glue. It tends to make a mess of foil papers if you get a little overzealous with the glue. I glued this about 1/2″ from the bottom edge of my DSP. I glued the white heart in the upper left corner of the DSP. I used tape runner on this heart because liquid glue tends to seep through the perforations made by the die. I adhered the gold heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals. As a finishing touch, I added two Adhesive-Backed Gold Sequins by my sentiment.
To finish the card, I stamped my sentiment on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and glued it inside the card. The Hearts of Elegance stamp set has several good sentiments to choose from, depending on the recipient.
I hope you liked this card!
