Country Flowers Fun Fold card

I needed a couple birthday cards this week and decided to use the Country Flowers stamp set. I chose colors I thought would be cheerful but also reflect the season. Marilyn here, with a simple fun fold card. Don’t forget that with a $60. purchase, you get to choose a free Sale-abration selection! There are many fun things to choose from!

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock to 7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ on my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. This is a “fun fold” because the front of the card is narrower than the back by 1″. Just a little something fun and different.

On to the bits and pieces! I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock to 3-1/8″ x 5-1/4″ and another to 1-1/8″ x 5-1/4″. I cut a piece of Basic Beige cardstock to 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. I cut a piece of the Country Woods DSP to 1-3/4″ x 5-1/8″. I wanted my stripes to be horizontal, so I was careful cutting the paper. See the design below. The dark part at the top shows the reverse side.

I ran the Basic Beige piece through the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I trimmed it into two pieces: 5-1/8″ x 1″ and 5-1/8″ x 1-1/8″. I trimmed it after embossing to make sure my sizes were accurate. Embossing tends to alter measurements, especially the 3D folders.

Now I had all the pieces for my card base and assembled them and adhered them to my card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I was careful to line up the Mossy Meadow pieces on the front with the back.

Now on to the focal image. I die cut the 3-1/4″ circle from Spotlight on Nature die set from Mossy Meadow cardstock. I cut the 2-3/4″ circle from a scrap of Basic White cardstock. With another scrap of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the teapot and flower image from Country Flowers stamp and die bundle (10% off regular price) with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends: Mossy Meadow, Melon Mambo, Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight, and Smoky Slate. I die cut the images with the dies in the bundle. Next, I stamped the Happy Birthday from Country Birdhouse stamp set with Melon Mambo ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I trimmed this down to a narrow strip.

I glued the white circle to the Mossy Meadow circle. I glued the flowers to the pot. I wrapped some DMC silver thread (from my favorite hobby store) around my fingers three times and stuck them to the center of the white circle with a bit of Stampin’ Seal. I glued on the floral image and then, the sentiment.

I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the left part of the circle being careful not to put Dimensionals on the part that extended past the edge of the front of the card. We want our card to open! I adhered this to the front of my card.

For a bit of sparkle, I added a couple Rhinestone Jewels.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment inside the card.

I hope you like this fun, but simple card!
