Simple Painted Trees Card

A merry Christmas to you and yours! Today’s card is a quick and easy card wishing you Peace on Earth. I thank Marilyn Falco for creating this design.

To make the card base, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ with my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. I cut a piece of Silver Foil to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and a piece of Night of Navy to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.

I ran the smaller Night of Navy piece through my Painted Trees Embossing Folder on my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to create the raised tree image. I placed the cardstock near the opening of the Embossing Folder as shone below.

After adding anti-static powder to my cardstock, I stamped the Peace on Earth sentiment from the Shepherd’s Care stamp set above the shorter tree with Versamark ink. I also stamped the scatter image from the set. I sprinkled them with silver embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder pack and heat set them with my Heat Tool.

With a Sponge Dauber, I applied White Craft ink to the raised images of the trees. I recommend using a light hand since you can always add more, but removing it is another story. I did lightly buff my tree images with a soft, dry cloth after heat setting the ink.

I mounted my image on the piece of Silver Foil with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I wrapped Silver Diamant DMC thread around the image about five times and taped the ends on the back of the panel. I found the thread at my favorite hobby store in the Needle Arts section. I adhered this panel to my card base leaving a narrow 1/16″ border.

I used two strands of the silver thread to make a bow. I glued the bow to the left side of the card after pinching the wrapped strands together. To finish the front of the card, I added three rhinestones from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock, cut to 4 x 5-1/4″ and glued it inside the card.

I hope you like this card, and I wish you and your family the best during this holiday season!
