Simple Shepherd’s Care Card

Today’s card is simple, but elegant. I thank my friend Gigi Parido for the idea.

To begin, I cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ with my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, and burnished with my Bone Folder. Next, I cut a strip of Season of Elegance 12″ x 12″ Specialty DSP to 2″ x 5-1/2″. From this pack, I used a piece of the Basic Beige with the gold foiling.

I cut a 1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Gold Foil. I cut a rectangle of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4″ x 2-1/4″ and a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ to act as a matte.

On the Very Vanilla piece, I stamped the shepherd from the Shepherd’s Care Stamp Set with Smoky Slate ink. I adhered this to the Smoky Slate matte with my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I took a scrap strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped Peace on Earth from the Shepherd’s Care stamp set with Pretty Peacock ink. I trimmed it down to 3-1/4″ and flagged the right edge with my Paper Snips.

To assemble the card, I glued the DSP strip to the gold foil strip and then adhered these to the right side of the card. I glued the shepherd panel to the left side of the card, leaving about a 1/2″ border at the top and left side. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the bottom of the card. As a finishing touch, I added a large gold gem from the Blooming Pearls pack.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment of a piece of Very Vanilla, cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and glued it inside the card.

I hope you liked this quick and easy card!
