Halloween is right around the corner and I thought I’d share this cute card.
To begin, I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ with my Paper Trimmer, scored and folded at 4-1/4″. I burnished the fold with my Bone Folder. This was my card base. Next, from Halloween Spells 12″ x 12″ DSP I cut my mattes. Using the green bubble sheet, I cut a piece 5-1/4″ x 2-5/8″. From the purple dotted paper, I cut a piece 5-1/4″ x 1-1/4″. I glued the purple piece to the left side of my card base, leaving a 1/8″ border using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal). I glued the green piece in the remaining space, centering and lining it up with the purple piece.
From the Halloween Spells DSP, I cut the stack of books with the top two books saying Potions and Spells. There are a lot of books on the sheet to choose from. Next, I stamped the cat from the Potion and Spells stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. I colored in the cat with Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I cut out the image with my Potions and Spells dies. The stamp set and dies are bundled and save you 10%!
I adhered the books about 3/4″ from the bottom of the card, overlapping the two DSP pieces. Using Dimensionals, I adhered the cat to the top of the books. The finishing touch is the Happy Halloween greeting. I stamped the greeting in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on a 3/4″ x 3-1/2″ strip of Pecan Pie cardstock. I cut the ends with my Paper Snips to create a banner and adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.
To finish the card, I glued a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside after stamping my sentiment. For a fun addition, you can stamp and color an additional cat inside, or cut and adhere another stack of books.
I hope you enjoyed this card!
