Now that we are enjoying the cooler fall temperatures, we can switch gears and really embrace the season! Today’s card does just that!
I started by cutting a card base from Pecan Pie cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ with my Paper Trimmer, scoring and folding at 4-1/4″, crisping the fold with my Bone Folder. Just the name of the cardstock puts me in mind of Thanksgiving! Who doesn’t love a slice of pecan pie? I cut a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. I cut the flowered image from Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP to 3″ x 5-1/2″ and adhered it to the Crushed Curry piece leaving a 1/8″ border on either side. I cut a length of ribbon about 10″. The picture shows a piece of Crushed Curry colored ribbon, but a good substitute is Wild Wheat 3/8″ Rustic Striped ribbon. You could also use a piece of the white ribbon in the Petal Pink & White 1/4″ Diagonal Trim Combo Pack and use a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Marker to color it. I tied the ribbon with a simple knot about an inch from the bottom. I adhered this to my card base, centering it using my favorite adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal.
With a scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock, I stamped “Thinking of You” from the Layering Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set with Pecan Pie ink. Using my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, I die cut the sentiment with my Something Fancy dies. I adhered the sentiment to the upper right hand side with Dimensionals. I finished the front of my card with two gold gems from the Blooming Pearls embellishment pack.
To finish the inside, I glued a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card!
