While we hope that everyone stays healthy with the change of seasons, sometimes we need a Get Well card. This simple card is perfect for anyone feeling under the weather. It’s bound to perk up the recipient!
I started by cutting a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ using my Paper Trimmer, scoring and folding at 4-1/4″. I like to crisp my fold with a Bone Folder. With the Country Woods 12″ x 12″ DSP, I cut a 1-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip from the lighter (Crumb Cake) grain. I cut a 3″ x 4-3/4″ piece using a darker grained image. I glued the longer strip to the left side of the card base using my favorite adhesive (Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal) leaving a 1/8″ border top, bottom, and left sides. I glued the darker piece on top with even borders top, bottom, and right sides.
On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the bucket image and the leaf image in Momento Tuxedo Black ink from the Country Flowers stamp set and die bundle. I colored them in with Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Ivory. Then I stamped the stool with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of the Country Woods DSP. This is a fun technique that gives the stool a woodgrain look with minimal effort! After coloring, I die cut the images out with the coordinating dies.
I stamped “Get Well Soon” from an older set on a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock, and flagged the ends with my Paper Snips. The beauty of this card design is that it would also make a great masculine birthday card – just change out the sentiment!
I glued the stool image towards the bottom of the darker grained piece. I glued the bucket image on the stool and adhered the leaf image using Dimensionals for a bit of dimension. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment with Dimensionals on the bucket image. To finish the card, I glued a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card after stamping a sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card!
