The temperatures this weekend are giving us a tiny peek at what is to come. We still have some higher temperatures ahead, so don’t switch out your summer clothes for winter clothes yet!
Today I have a simple card that focuses on the beautiful Wildly Flowering DSP. I began with a card base of Misty Moonlight cardstock, cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″. For the matte layer, I used Crumb Cake cardstock, cut to 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. With a 3″ x 4-1/2″ piece of the Wildly Flowering DSP, I cut it into three equal 1″ pieces, longwise. A note before cutting the DSP: if the image is directional, make sure you are cutting so the image is in the correct position. Glue the strips using your preferred adhesive (Multipurpose liquid glue or Stampin’ Seal) onto the Crumb Cake cardstock, leaving a 1/8″ border and between strips. Position the strips so the image is continuous. Adhere this to the card base with equal borders. With the Heartfeld Hexagon stamp set, stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock with Misty Moonlight ink. Punch the sentiment out with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch. Glue a 3-1/4″ x 1/2″ strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock about an inch or so from the bottom of the matte piece. Adhere the sentiment with Dimensionals over the strip. On either side of the sentiment, add an iridescent pearl basic jewel.
